'Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.'

- Les Brown

Many people ignore the fact that during the second part of the nineteenth century, a real - life kingdom was born in the Araucania region of Chile, and later expanded to the Argentinean Patagonia.

That state managed to get recognized by more than sixty countries, including France, and was founded by a French lawyer who was elected as King by the Indian chiefs of the region who, besieged by the two European nations that were already expanding over their land, saw on Orellie Antoine de Tounens a possible saviour.

So, the Kingodom of Araucania was born, and soon, with the association of the tribes located eastwards, across the Andes, it became the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia, with King Orellie Antoine I as its leader.

His titles, and those of his indirect descendants were sanctioned and recognized, and there is a court in exile in these days, in France, albeit it is much questioned regarding its legitimacy.

He wrote a Constitution, laws, government plans and projects, and even maps showing his territories to the world but soon, however, he ran into trouble because there was an excess of scepticism about his 'Nouvelle France', and a sore lack of funds and political leverage.

Texts on steamers coming to the country, the formation of a postal corporation, and many other ideas were concocted by the King while the wind and snow came in waves to his naked capital.
