Kilt - A traditional sort of dress and outdoor gear of the Scottish Highlanders. Today, the skirt worn often in the region is referred as a kilt but in reality, it was a fer larger piece of fabric, more akin to a poncho. It was outlawed by the British occupants during the eighteenth century in order to destroy Highlander culture and mobility, which conspired against the stability of the colonial government.
