Boleto - A “boleto” is a lie that is very hard to believe and not persuasive at all. Apparently it comes from what was a common practice in Buenos Aires many decades ago: Some individuals used to sell their “boletos” or train tickets to other people, especially immigrants or very ignorant people who had no clue on how the system worked, “used but as good as new”; some of those tickets were indeed usable but many were already marked by train inspectors and hence, deemed invalid.
