Conway - Known as Conway Camp or Conway Saddle, it is a Pakistani temporary-turned-permanent military installation located in the Siachen glacier at 6.248 m. above sea level; the camp was erected in the Karakoram range within the context of a high altitude, low-intensity war between India and Pakistan for the control of the region. It was christened as such to the memory of the English explorer Sir Walter Conway.
