Mount Idinen - Idinen is a mount located close to Gath, in Africa; according to tuareg lore, its peak is inhabited by evil spirits. In 1850 Heinrich Barth, a noted member of the Richardson expedition climbed it successfully but got lost in his way down. Having consumed all his water, he cut his veins to drink his own blood. He was rescued by some tuaregs and survived, but his trip to Mount Idinen only contributed to reinforce the mountain's reputation in the mind of many believers.
