Von der Esch, Hans Joachim - Hans Joachim von der Esch (1899-1976) was a German engineer, diplomat and explorer of Egypt and Libya; together with the Hungarian Count Almásy discovered the Magyarab tribe and tried to find the fate of the Persian army that tried to reach Siwa on an ancient campaign to conquer Egypt.
