Bodson, Omer - Omer Bodson (1856-1891), born in Belgium, became a lieutenant of Grant Stairs during the expedition to conquer the Yeke kingdom by appointment of King Leupold of Belgium, who wanted to gain control of the ivory commerce routes across the continent, with no consideration as to the human cost of the venture .
