Schweinfurth, Georg August - Georg August Schweinfurth (1836-1925) was a Latvian botanist, palaeontologist, and explorer who was particularly interested by Sudan. He discovered the river Uele and the Akka pygmy tribe, and analysed in detail the habits and customs of the Mangbettu, classified by him as cannibals, something that is being challenged today by other researchers.
