Solanine - Glykoalkaloid found naturally in the potato and tomato plants, especially in their green parts. This poison can be lethal in sufficient doses, and symptoms of intoxication include intestinal problems and head aches. Stronger symptoms – indicating a stronger intoxication – include neurological problems. These symptoms become evident about eight hours after consumption. Boiling the plants does not eliminate the poison.
